Volunteer

Serve your neighbors. Find your people.

Volunteers are how 1,600+ neighbors get fed. Come once a month or every week — there's a place for your hands here, whatever your skills or schedule.

Pantry days

Pack grocery boxes, greet neighbors, and run curbside pickup at our Beaver Meadows center.

Delivery drivers

Bring groceries to seniors and families without transportation across Luzerne, Carbon, and Monroe counties.

Garden of Eating

Plant, weed, water, and harvest in our community garden — or help at farm gleaning days.

Food recovery

Help pick up rescued food from grocery partners and sort it for same-day distribution.

Community events

Serve meals from Nick's Café, run bingo or karaoke, and help families feel at home at our free monthly events.

Youth mentoring

Invest in the next generation through our youth leadership development programs.

Media & tech support

Help us get the word out and keep up with new technology: photos, social media, and our website.

Christian education

Teach and help lead Bible study that makes great lessons simple and practical.

Other gifts

Construction, automotive, maintenance, finance: skilled help keeps our building, vans, and books in shape.

Faithful service

Deacon Keith and Deaconess Theresa Hudson volunteered with Common Ground Ministries from 2004 until their recent move to North Carolina. Two decades of showing up is what keeps a ministry like ours running, and we are grateful for every volunteer who follows in their footsteps.
