Food Pantry & Free Groceries

Common Ground Ministries provides free groceries to individuals and families across Luzerne, Carbon, and Monroe counties in Northeast Pennsylvania — with curbside pickup in Beaver Meadows, monthly distributions in Monroe County, and delivery when you can't get to us. Call or text 570-801-2699.

How the pantry works

Our pantry operates from our community center at 121-B Berwick Street in Beaver Meadows, the old Saint Mary's Church on Route 93 in Carbon County. Fifteen freezers and refrigerators keep food fresh. We stock staples like rice, pasta, and canned goods alongside fresh produce, dairy, meat, and rescued grocery items — the kinds of food families actually want to eat.

The groceries are free, and everybody is welcome. Our schedule changes, so call or text the hotline for current times, and text to schedule a curbside pickup. If you are facing a food emergency, tell us — our building lets us respond around the clock.

Monroe County distributions

We hold a drive-thru distribution in Monroe County, usually on the fourth Sunday of every month. For 15 years we have also served residents at the Avon Court and West Gate housing authority communities. Call or text the hotline to confirm dates and locations.

Delivery when you can't get to us

Curbside pickup comes first. When someone truly can't reach a pickup or distribution, we deliver. Fuel, vehicles, and staff time make delivery our most expensive service, and it isn't fully funded, so depending on distance we may ask for a donation toward it. Seniors and residents of low-income housing are usually not asked.
